PRESIDENT YOWERI MUSEVENI DELIVERED THE STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS 2013 TO PARLIAMENT OF UGANDA AT SERENA CONFERANCE

In his speech, Museveni predicted that Uganda would be a middle income country by 2017 and a first world country by 2050. The President also highlighted the achievements of 2012 and discussed the way forward. 
 His main concerns, he said apart from peace also social -economic transformation or our society and economy and the integration of African continent. in the battle for social economic transformation he identified the 10 strategic bottlenecks. among these include:
ending ideological disorientation, building the state pillars to ensure that its capable of governing people and protecting them, developing the human resource through education and the improved health for all, promoting private sector which is a more efficient vehicle for enterprise identification and growth rather than persecuting them as used to happen in the past, developing the infrastructure especially electricity, railways, roads, ICT etc, modernizing agriculture, modernizing services, integrating African markets and ensuring democracy.
