KABAROLE DISTRICT LOCAL GOVERNMENT IS SHIFTING TO IT'S NEW HOME SITUATED AT KITUMBA

Kabarole District Local Government is shifting it’s offices to its new home situated at Kitumba, in East Division of Fort Portal Municipality. Whereas this move has generated a lot of excitement there are reservations as well. The shifting started this Monday 25th/03/2013
As you are aware, the District Council resolved in 2006 to construct a new District Headquarters at Kitumba, in Fort Portal Municipality. Works have since been ongoing and we are happy to report that the project is almost complete and the building is now due for occupation. As can be the case for any project of such magnitude, its implementation has had its own challenges and most particularly, the issues of financing and technical desirability.
It is on that note that the present and past Councils and technical staff establishments are hereby applauded for their enormous contribution towards the successful completion of the project. Great appreciation is extended to the Office of the President, Ministries of Finance and Local Government and the District Council for the financial support. The Contractor and technical staff are as well appreciated for their input. Least, we cannot forget the moral support enjoyed from various personalities and our communities, in general.
Who is moving?
Currently, ready space is not enough to accommodate many offices. Therefore, not all departments will be moving to Kitumba. Those moving are Administration, Council, Finance, Community Development and Education.
Production and Natural Resources Departments will remain in Booma. Health
department will move to Booma, while Works Department will remain in Mucwa
Where is Kitumba and how can it be accessed?
Kitumba is located in East Division, of Fort portal Municipality. It is accessed from Kampala Road, passes the east division headquarters and is directly opposite the Fort portal Remand home. Map below shows point A as the current location and point B as the new home.
