President Yoweri Museven on Saturday 31st
/8/2013 launched the Runyoro –Rutooro Dictionary at mountains of the moon
Hotel Fort Portal. He paid tribute to Mr. L.T.Rubongoya (90) of Kigwenge
village .Rubingo parish, Karambi sub county Kabarole district for his dedicated
effort to unit the Dictionary for period of over 40 years. He urged the people
of Tooro and Bunyoro to embrace their language and teach it to their children.
He denoted 30 million shilling cash to Isaazi Lya Tooro (An association of
Tooro Elders chaired by prof. Edward Rungumayo) to produce more copies of the
Dictionary and supply in schools. He also donated 60 million shilling to Mr.
.L.T. Rubongoyo in appreciation of his effort to promote the local language.
